Leg press calf raise
A calf raise on the leg press that lets you load the calves heavily with a supported back.
- Muscle group: Legs
- Equipment: Machine
- Difficulty: Beginner
Also known as: Calf press on leg press, Leg press calf press, Calf raise on leg press, Lægpres i benpres
How to do it
- Sit in the leg press and place only the balls of your feet on the lower edge of the platform, legs almost straight.
- Release the safeties and let your heels drop back so the calves stretch.
- Press through the balls of your feet, pause, then lower slowly without locking out the knees.
Common mistakes
- Locking the knees hard, which puts stress on the joint.
- Letting the platform fall fast so your toes slip off the edge.
