Dumbbell side bend
A standing side bend with one dumbbell that targets the obliques.

How to do it
- Stand tall with a dumbbell in one hand and your other hand lightly on your hip.
- Bend sideways toward the weight without leaning forward or back.
- Return to upright by squeezing the muscles on the opposite side.
Common mistakes
- Using too heavy a weight, which strains the lower back.
- Twisting the torso instead of bending straight sideways.
