A rotational core lift that turns the torso while the hips and arms stay in line.
- Muscle group: Core
- Equipment: Cable machine
- Difficulty: Intermediate
Also known as: Cable wood chop, Cable wood chopper, Kabelsving diagonalt, Diagonal kabeltrækning for mave
How to do it
- Set the cable high or low, stand side-on to the stack and hold the handle with both hands.
- Brace your abs and rotate your torso and pivot your back foot as you pull the handle diagonally across your body.
- Return slowly under control, keeping your arms fairly straight and your hips steady.
Common mistakes
- Yanking with the arms instead of rotating through the trunk.
- Using so much weight that the lower back twists and arches.
