Box jump
An explosive jump onto a sturdy box that builds power.
- Muscle group: Legs
- Equipment: Bodyweight
- Difficulty: Intermediate
Also known as: Plyo box jump, Jump onto box, Spring op på kasse, Kassespring
How to do it
- Stand facing a stable box at a height you can clear comfortably, feet about hip-width apart.
- Swing your arms back, load the hips and jump up, landing softly with both feet fully on the box.
- Stand tall, then step down one foot at a time rather than jumping back.
Common mistakes
- Choosing a box that is too high and landing in a deep, unstable squat.
- Jumping down from the box instead of stepping, which stresses the ankles and Achilles.
