Machine biceps curl
A supported seated curl that isolates the biceps with a guided path.
- Muscle group: Arms
- Equipment: Machine
- Difficulty: Beginner
Also known as: Biceps curl machine, Preacher curl machine, Seated biceps curl machine, Curlmaskine
How to do it
- Adjust the seat so your upper arms rest on the pad and the machine's pivot lines up with your elbows.
- Grip the handles and curl them up toward your shoulders without lifting your elbows from the pad.
- Lower slowly until your arms are almost straight, keeping tension on the biceps.
Common mistakes
- Lifting the elbows off the pad or swinging the torso to move the weight.
- Dropping the weight quickly instead of lowering under control.
