Preacher curl
A curl with the upper arms resting on an angled pad, which removes swinging and isolates the biceps.
- Muscle group: Arms
- Equipment: Machine
- Difficulty: Beginner
Also known as: Machine preacher curl, EZ-bar preacher curl, Scott curl, Preachercurl
How to do it
- Adjust the seat so the back of your upper arms rests fully on the pad.
- Curl the handle or bar up without lifting the elbows off the pad.
- Lower slowly to almost straight arms; do not drop into a locked-out bounce.
Common mistakes
- Lifting the elbows or shoulders off the pad.
- Dropping the weight fast at the bottom, which stresses the elbow.
