Barbell lunge
A loaded lunge that builds leg strength and single-leg control.

How to do it
- Unrack the bar on your upper back, brace your core and stand tall with feet hip-width apart.
- Step forward into a long stride and lower until both knees are bent, with the front foot flat on the floor.
- Push through the front foot to return to standing and repeat on the other leg.
Common mistakes
- Taking a stride so short that the front knee is pushed far over the toes.
- Leaning forward and losing the braced upper back under the bar.
