Walking lunge
Lunges that travel forward step by step; a demanding leg and balance exercise. Start without weights.
- Muscle group: Legs
- Equipment: Dumbbells
- Difficulty: Intermediate
Also known as: Dumbbell walking lunge, Gående udfald, Gangudfald
How to do it
- Stand tall, holding light dumbbells at your sides if you use them.
- Take a long step forward and lower until both knees are bent about 90 degrees.
- Push through the front foot and bring the back leg straight into the next step.
Common mistakes
- Taking short steps so the front knee shoots far past the toes and the heel lifts.
- Letting the torso fall forward or the front knee cave in.
