Wide-grip pull-up
A pull-up with an overhand grip wider than the shoulders to emphasise the lats.

How to do it
- Grip the bar overhand wider than shoulder width and start from a full hang with shoulders set down.
- Drive your elbows down toward your ribs until your chin passes the bar.
- Lower under control to a full hang before the next rep.
Common mistakes
- Using a grip so wide that the shoulders feel pinched.
- Swinging the legs or shrugging instead of pulling with the back.
