Lying triceps extension
Lie on a bench and bend only the elbows to lower weights toward your head, a direct triceps exercise.
- Muscle group: Arms
- Equipment: Dumbbells
- Difficulty: Intermediate
Also known as: Skull crusher, Dumbbell skull crusher, Skullcrusher, Liggende tricepsstræk
How to do it
- Lie on a bench with a dumbbell in each hand, arms straight above your shoulders, palms facing each other.
- Keeping the upper arms still, bend your elbows to lower the weights beside your head.
- Straighten the elbows to return to the start. Use a light load first; keep the wrists straight.
Common mistakes
- Letting the elbows flare out or the upper arms drift back and forth.
- Going too heavy, which strains the elbows and turns it into a press.
