Lat stretch
An overhead side-reaching stretch for the lats. Held per side.

Also known as: Latissimus stretch, Overhead lat stretch, Side lat stretch, Stræk af brede rygmuskel, Lat-udstrækning
How to do it
- Stand tall and raise one arm overhead, or hold a post or rack at about head height.
- Lean your body sideways away from that arm until you feel a stretch along your side and back.
- Breathe slowly into the stretch, hold, then switch sides.
Common mistakes
- Arching the lower back instead of keeping the ribs down.
- Shrugging the shoulder up toward the ear.
