Cuban press
A light, controlled upright row, rotate and press that strengthens the rotator cuff and shoulders.
- Muscle group: Shoulders
- Equipment: Dumbbells
- Difficulty: Intermediate
Also known as: Cuban rotation, Dumbbell Cuban press, Cuban-pres, Roterende skuldertræning med håndvægte
How to do it
- Hold light dumbbells at your thighs and pull them up to chest height with elbows out.
- Rotate your forearms upward so the weights point at the ceiling.
- Press overhead, then reverse the movement slowly back down.
Common mistakes
- Using too much weight, which ruins the rotation and stresses the shoulder.
- Rushing and shrugging the shoulders up to the ears.
