Cossack squat
A deep side-to-side squat that builds leg strength and hip mobility.

Also known as: Side-to-side squat, Skater squat deep, Sidelæns dyb squat, Kosak-squat
How to do it
- Stand with feet wide and toes slightly out, then shift your weight onto one leg.
- Bend that knee and sit down toward the heel while the other leg stays straight with the toes up.
- Push back up through the working foot and shift across to the other side.
Common mistakes
- Letting the working heel lift or the knee collapse inward.
- Going deeper than your hips and ankles allow.
