Wrist curl
A small movement that trains the forearm flexors, which help grip strength.
- Muscle group: Arms
- Equipment: Dumbbells
- Difficulty: Beginner
Also known as: Forearm curl, Dumbbell wrist curl, Underarmscurl, Håndledscurl
How to do it
- Sit and rest your forearms on your thighs or a bench, palms up, with the wrists just past the edge.
- Let the dumbbells roll toward your fingertips, then curl them back up using only the wrists.
- Lower slowly. Use light weights and a full range of movement.
Common mistakes
- Lifting the forearms off the support.
- Using too much weight, which cuts the range short.
