Machine chest press
A seated, guided press for the chest, shoulders and triceps; a safe way to train hard without a spotter.

How to do it
- Set the seat so the handles line up with the middle of your chest.
- Sit with your back against the pad, shoulder blades back, and grip the handles.
- Press forward until the arms are almost straight, then return slowly.
Common mistakes
- Letting the shoulders roll forward off the pad at the end of each rep.
- Letting the weight stack crash down between reps.
