Deadlift
Lift a loaded bar from the floor by hinging at the hips; a full-body pull that needs patient technique work.

How to do it
- Stand with the bar over mid-foot, hinge down and grip just outside your legs.
- Brace your trunk, pull the slack out of the bar and push the floor away.
- Stand tall with hips and knees finishing together, then lower the bar back along your legs under control.
Common mistakes
- Rounding the lower back or jerking the bar off the floor.
- Letting the bar drift away from your body.
